The Animas Vibe is an insulin pump with a built in Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitor. Although there is a pump-only version of the Vibe available, the combination of the pump and monitor are what makes the Vibe stand out. The Vibe, alone, is basically the Animas 2020 pump platform from a few years ago.
The Vibe has been available in the UK since 2011. Johnson & Johnson finally submitted the Animas Vibe to the FDA in April of 2013.
The APP Study was conducted to see how people who have good control really use their pumps and to find what settings give the best glucose results. We analyzed anonymous data from several hundred Deltec Cozmo insulin pumps (Smiths Medical) that were consecutively downloaded during a large, routine software upgrade of all Cozmo pumps in 2007. The pumps were prescribed and used around the U.S. by a wide variety of clinicians and wearers. Insulin dosing was analyzed from a subset of 396 pumps where glucose readings were directly entered from an attached meter.

At the 72nd Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association, Tandem announced that it will begin accepting orders for the t:slim™ Insulin Delivery System, the first insulin pump approved by the FDA with a touch screen, on Monday, June 11, 2012 starting at 6:00am. The product will begin shipping in August 2012.
